2017 Southern Cluster Leaders with their new shirts.
TEEC has welcomed 66 new Year 6 leaders into this years leadership program. Leaders attended 3 days of camp where they met peers from surrounding schools and practiced the 10 leadership skills.
Schools from as far north as Alexandra Bay, and south to Mt Garnet participate in this program. There is a strong focus on public speaking skills, with leaders practicing how to do a Vote of Thanks and presenting to multiple audiences. Year 12 leaders also share their experiences with the Year 6's.
The final session involves presenting their new skills to an audience of Principals and teachers and then joining a Q&A forum where Principals and students candidly share their experiences.
During the year TEEC staff will visit leaders in their own schools to encourage and reflect on their journey.
At the end of the year the group will reassemble to present the
highlights of the year as leaders and join in a fun social activity to celebrate their efforts.
