Methods of Cooking


This can cater for up to 50 pupils.

Gas Stove (includes an oven)

Enables the cooking of a variety of meals.

Open Fire Cooking

  • Small BBQ stands and plates are available and these can be used over an open fire -suitable for small groups of up to 6 people.
  • Food can be cooked in the coals in alfoil packets. Individuals can wrap their meat and vegetables in alfoil and cook in a bed of coals.
  • Camp Ovens may be used to cook meals such as casseroles, sweet and sour, baked meat and vegetables. Suitable for small groups of up to 6 people.

Fuel Stove Cooking

These small metho burning Trangia stoves are extremely safe and environmentally friendly and an excellent experience for pupils. Suited for small groups of up to 3 pupils. Any type of food can be cooked on these stoves, but fairly simple meals such as spaghetti bolognaise, noodley mince, stir fry and scrambled eggs are best.

Microwave Oven

Available in kitchen area.
