Tinaroo Environmental Education Centre (TEEC) has been providing outdoor and environmental educational opportunities for students in Far North Queensland, on and around Lake Tinaroo, since 1987.
One Centre, Two Sites
In July 2017, TEEC took over the management of what has been known over the years as:
- The Harold Holt Memorial National Fitness Camp
- The Tinaroo Recreation Centre
- Lake Tinaroo Active Recreation Centre
- Lake Tinaroo Apex Camp
This establishment is now known as the "Tinaroo EEC - Barron River Campus" and operates in conjunction with the "Tinaroo EEC - Black Gully Campus". The two combined campuses have tripled our capacity. The Centre is run by Education Queensland (EQ) and staffed by experienced EQ teachers.
TEEC - Barron River offers:
- Dormitory accommodation for up to 6 class groups
- Fully catered meals
- A wide variety of outdoor and environmental program options
TEEC - Black Gully offers:
- Tent accommodation for up to 2 class groups
- Fully catered meals
- A wide variety of outdoor and environmental program options
