Making electricity

Lesson Purpose

  1. To look at how electricity is traditionally generated.
  2. To discuss the use of coal to create steam which turns a turbine.
  3. To look at a generator and discuss its workings.
  4. To generate electricity using hand and bike generators to discover how much energy is really required to drive a variety of household appliances.
