Lesson Purpose :
There are a number of activities involving navigation at this centre. They vary in their complexity. Skills developed include following instructions, reading a map and compass, use of a GPS, identification of a variety of landmarks etc.
Time Needed :
Orienteering Course - 90 mins (Years 5 - 10)
Hidden Forest Hike - 7 hrs (Years 6 - 12)
Instructor's Skills :
TEEC staff member and class teacher.
General Comments :
Basic navigation techniques are often used to complete various journeys by canoe e.g. to abseiling etc.
